The Author

Steve "Crusher" Bartlett has been enjoying climbing for nearly 30 years, and ascending desert towers for the last 25. During that time he has stood atop well over 100 towers and more than 30 previously unclimbed towers. His book Desert Towers: Fat Cat Summits and Kitty Litter Rock offers a comprehensive look into the world of desert tower climbing. Most recently he published a feature story in the American Alpine Journal 2013: "Danger! A Plea for Restraint in the Fisher Towers." The hardcover edition of the AAJ 2013 includes a special essay and is signed by Huntley Ingalls; it is available with Bartlett's Desert Towers as a special package commemorating the history of desert climbing at shop.americanalpineclub.org
