Seeking the Unknown

Popular culture has a tendency to magnify lore. With its wild hair and unworldly reputation, the Yeti has become the paragon of this maxim, and it’s easy to dismiss the silly creature we see so often in books and movies as fiction. But as climbers, we have an innate drive to embark into and try to understand the unknown. As the world “gets smaller” and our concepts of exploration and discovery change, the Yeti stands tall in the shadows, reminding us that mystery is precious.
